What
CWS will be doing a test of the phones portion of the Telephone Emergency Notification System (TENS) which includes voice calls to landlines, AND cellular voice calls, text messages and emails to devices pre-registered with CWS. At this time, CWS will NOT be testing Sirens, Emergency Alert System, NOAA weather radios, Facebook or Twitter

Where
The test will be conducted in the areas (zones) surrounding Richmond / San Pablo, Rodeo, Martinez / Pacheco, Antioch / Pittsburg.

When
Monday, April 10, 2017, between 5:30 PM—8:00 PM. Each zone will have a 30 minute staggered start time.
5:30 PM—Pittsburg/Antioch areas
6:00 PM—Martinez/Pacheco area
6:30 PM—Rodeo area
7:00 PM—Richmond/San Pablo area

Message
The phone number during the test will be:1+000-000-0000. During the tests, the following message will be sent:
“This is a test of the telephone portion of the Contra Costa County
Community Warning System. This is only a test. There is currently
no emergency in your area. For more information about this test or
to register to receive alerts on your cell phone or email during
actual emergencies go to www.cococws.us or do an internet
search for CWS Alerts. This is only a test.”
